The Pinkest App is here! Pretzel launches new app.

At the beginning of 2024, we started a conversation with IT Hospitality platform Redcat about an entirely custom POS system. Because of the unique nature of our Pretzel shops, we needed a system that was both customer and staff friendly. Luckily, Redcat had the tools to facilitate this, as well as some incredible capabilities when it came to in-depth reporting.


A few months into the year, we had designed our very own point of sale computer with the help of a few factories, and soon enough had our adorable pink POS machines in store. All the while working on something even more exciting...


When designing an app, you have the opportunity to simultaneously streamline a customer experience and develop a brand identity into a new arena, which for us is why we do it in the first place; customers and branding. So over a matter of eight or so months, we had the chance to build upon our existing identity and also work within the constraints of an ideal user experience. This meant market research, real-time prototyping, and a few mistakes along the way! Those mistakes became blessings, as the more we made, the better we understood the beast that was app development.


On the other side, we were building our ideal loyalty program. After a number of trials and maths, we landed on a relatively simple dollars-for-points system, that's both easy to use and to communicate. No need to reinvent the wheel.


Finally, in the first week of October, we published the Pretzel Australia app, and so far the reception has been wonderful! We've had so much fun creating this baby, and are going to have so much more fun sharing it with all of you! x
